Claerwen Retreat – in the hills above Apollo Bay

Claerwen Retreat is less than a 3 hour 20 minute drive from Yoga Tree. It is located at Crow’s Nest Lookout Point, 350 meters above the beach of Apollo Bay.

Set over 240 acres of open grassland and natural forest, Claerwen Retreat offers a sanctuary for inner practice – all with magnificent views of Bass Strait.

House Accommodation

Each room has its own private bathroom and immediate access to the stunning lounge/dining.

Cottage Accommodation

Each cottage has 2 single and 1 twin share room sharing a lounge, large bathroom and decking.

Studio Accommodation

One studio is available with separate private bathroom and ocean views.



Mornings will begin with 60-75 minute vinyasa (flow) practice to get the body moving and the mind awake and ready for the day.

In the afternoon we will practice a lighter yin class.


Our meditation sessions will focus on the element of Water. You will be guided through various practices to purify and connect inwardly.

Morning sessions will be silent, minimally guided.

Moving Meditation

On this retreat Sanjay will lead an ecstatic dance session themed on Water.

On this retreat all meals are vegetarian and made fresh. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. A warm cup of tea is available at all times.

Please inform us if you have any special dietary requirements, we will try to accommodate these.


The guidelines for the yoga retreat are to assist your practice and facilitate a deeper experience.

Simple Guidelines

• Attendance at all sessions is required. If you are sick, or cannot attend for any other reasons, please inform a teacher.
• You must attend each session promptly.
• Sometimes we will observe silence.
• No visitors will be allowed during the yoga retreat.

Keep the five Mahayana Precepts

• No killing
• No stealing
• No lying
• No sexual misconduct
• No tobacco, alcohol or other mind altering substances.

What not to Bring

• Do not bring any non-yogic reading material. A journal is ok.


The prices for this yoga retreat cover your yoga, meditation, teaching and practice sessions, accommodation and delicious vegetarian meals. You will not need any extra money unless you want to go to Apollo Bay before or after the retreat.

All share accommodation is single beds.

A $300 deposit is required to confirm your booking, balance of payment via electronic transfer to secure your place. Full payment is required within 14 days of the retreat. All payments are refundable up to 14 days before the commencement of the retreat, minus booking fees of 5%. Full cost of the retreat will be forfeited if participant cancels within 14 days and the start of the retreat.
