Our Pilgrimage

Kopan Monastery

We will receive teachings, enjoy a monastic lunch and stroll through the beautiful gardens.

This sacred temple is one of the oldest in Nepal – over 1500 years old.

Buddha Par

As we walk around we will say mantra for each deity and take in their beauty.

Lunch, shopping, traditional Buddhist artwork (Thangkas) and the best lassi of your life.

We will practice mantra inside the cave where Padmasambhava attained his enligthenment.

Namo Buddha

This is one of the three main stupas of the Kathmandu valley, a very sacred place.

Here we will spend time walking around the stupa, performing virtuous action through body, speech and mind (and a little shopping!)

Each location has some spiritual meaning and benefit. Our focus will be to develop an inner awareness of compassion and kindness towards ourselves and others. Through this practice we will come to know more happiness and ease in life.

Be prepared to meditate mindfully and allow the beauty of these places to infuse inspiration to propel you further on your yogic journey.

This retreat has a strong spiritual focus but rest assured, you will still have the opportunity to relax, explore, and buy those perfect little gifts for yourself and others. nepal yoga retreat

Our Practice

Most mornings will begin with 60-75 minute vinyasa (flow) practice to get the body moving and the mind awake and ready for the day.

In the afternoons we will practice a lighter yin class.

Our meditation sessions will follow the teachings on compassion and kindness, which come form the Mahayana Buddhist school of thought training. These will be in the morning and evenings.

The mantras we will practice will be Tibetan Buddhist mantras. We will practice these at the Resort and then use these when we go to visit holy places as part of our practice.

Namo Buddha Resort – Traditional Nepalese Luxury

Perched on a hilltop at 1800m, just outside the Kathmandu Valley, Namo Buddha Resort is an oasis of peace and tranquility, offering spectacular views of the Himalayan mountain range on clear days. nepal yoga retreat

The resort is built in traditional Newari style, surrounded by organic farmland, flower gardens and forest, where they encourage sustainable methods of cultivation as well as preserving the natural wildlife habitat. nepal yoga retreat

On our last night we will stay at Boudhanath, one of the most sacred places for Buddhists. This accommodation is a little more simple, and only 15 minute drive from the airport. nepal yoga retreat

On this retreat all meals at Namo Buddha Resort are vegetarian, made fresh, and where possible using organic produce from their own farm. nepal yoga retreat
